Property no. 3405053
Holiday home for max. 8 persons
Motovun, Istria, (Motovun and the surrounding area), Croatia
The beautiful Villa Angelo is one of a group of stone houses from the early 18th century and is located in the picturesque town of Motovun. This sunny property, which dates back to Roman times and was originally the town's customs house, is south-facing and has a large terrace and infinity pool overlooking the enchanting valley.
The property has been lovingly restored over three decades and furnished with the finest local and Italian materials. Every room has been furnished with imagination, the application of which can be particularly admired in the Istrian limestone floors, wooden kitchen cabinets, the exquisite handmade copper bathtub and the steam bath with grey Italian porcelain tiles.
The villa extends over three floors and 200 square metres. The ground floor consists of an elegant wooden kitchen with modern appliances and a rustic dining table as well as a spacious living area with patio windows leading to the loggia and terrace. The terrace extends the full length of the house, where there is a dining table under the loggia with wooden beams and an outdoor bed on the other half facing the sky, ideal for enjoying the sun during the day and the beautiful constellations at night. The entire terrace offers a spectacular panoramic view of the valley.
The first floor consists of two bedrooms and three bathrooms, with a further bedroom on the top floor. Each bedroom is air-conditioned and offers a luxurious double bed. The attic bedroom also has two single beds, ideal for children. The master bathroom has a spectacular free-standing bath and walk-in shower. There is also a second bathroom with shower, which is furnished with limestone. All rooms offer beautiful panoramic views of the mountains or the fertile Mirna river valley.
The stunning infinity pool offers uninterrupted, fairytale views over the Motovun valley. Below the pool is a beautiful Mediterranean garden, consisting of a mixture of plants, flowers and fragrant herbs, as well as another outdoor bed, ideal for reading and enjoying the mountain air and views. Guests can enjoy the flora by taking a walk along the garden path. Both the pool and the garden are illuminated at night. Through a door at the end of the garden is the steam room with aroma and colour therapy.
The stunning infinity pool, steam room and garden are for the private use of Villa Angelo guests. They are located two floors below the house and can be reached via a separate entrance from the main road, about 20 metres from the front door of the villa.
Wi-Fi is available throughout the building. Free parking for 2 cars is located about 100-500 metres from the front door; the beautiful town square is a five-minute walk from the house.
Although it is a semi-detached house, you will have all the privacy you need as no one lives in the neighbouring house during the rental season.
The pool is up to 2.80 metres deep - so make sure you bring water wings if you are travelling with children. :)The enchanting hilltop town of Motovun is certainly the most famous and attractive medieval town in Istria and one of the characteristic symbols of the Istrian inland. Exuding traditional Istrian charm, Motovun is known as a monument town and offers spectacular views over hills covered with vineyards, hamlets and farmhouses, as well as over the magical Mirna Valley - the longest river in Istria.
Traditional local festivities as well as a renowned international film festival are organised here and bring this peaceful town to life. The town is also known for local Teran and Malvazija grapes, olive oil, homemade cheese, prosciutto, grilled meat and of course truffles, all of which can be tasted in restaurants in the numerous villages and towns in the area.
There are numerous hiking and cycling trails, one of the most beautiful of which is the historic Parenzana - an old railway line where you can experience a unique ride on a tourist train along the historic route. Horse riding, a few rounds of golf or simply enjoying the thermal waters of the nearby spa town add to this long list of activities.
In addition to Motovun, visit Gronjan - the town of artists with its beautiful art galleries and studios and Hum - the smallest town in the world.
The number of towns and villages to visit is too long to list; here we are in the heart of central Istria, one of the most beautiful places in the world.
The main coastal towns of Umag, Novigrad and Porec are easily accessible due to excellent road connections and offer very extensive leisure facilities, good nightlife, bars and restaurants.
